How long can the COVID-19 virus survive on plastic/material/cardboard etc:
According to the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the WHO, COVID-19 can only stay alive on surfaces for up to a few days so the risk of transmission through coming into contact with effected goods is deemed extremely unlikely, especially if the goods have been in transit for a number of weeks before they reach their destination. Please refer to the WHO and CDC websites for more information.
What are chances/percentage of getting the COVID-19 virus through beanie contact at the time they arrive in Australia and are ready for distribution by the MHF:
According to the CDC, COVID-19 is predominantly transmitted by coming into close contact with someone effected. There is no evidence to suggest the virus can be passed through food or from packaging imported from overseas.
